Hurlstone Centenary Newsletter (April 2006)
Welcome to the Centenary News.
The school is celebrating a Century of Education at Hurlstone, 1907-2007 and we are asking ex students and staff to forward their current details for our database to Mrs Anne McLeod on (02) 9829 9246 or annemcleod29@yahoo.com.au.
We are currently taking orders for pavers for the Centenary Walkway. This is a unique opportunity to have your name as a permanent part of our school. A single paver has your given name, surname and the years you attended Hurlstone, while the family paver has your surname on the top line with up to five (5) siblings listed below and their years of attendance along side. Single pavers are selling for $38-50 and the family pavers are selling for $82-50.
The walkway is to be laid between the Administration Block and Clarke House and will feature an “aged” mouldboard plough as a sculpture. The aim is to make this a very attractive area, with seating and selected plantings, which will be useful for formal functions.

The paver sale will end on 30 June 2006. If you are intending to support this project, please return your order form as soon as possible.

The following is a proposed list of events which will be held during the Centenary year:
- Tuesday 13 March, 2007 – the launching of the Centennial Book which is being written by Mr A Pollock from the History Faculty.
- Sunday 1 April , 2007 – A Thanksgiving Service which is being held in the Edmondson Hall at 1-30pm, followed by the dedication of the Centenary Walkway and afternoon tea. Entry on this day is by invitation only, following the purchase of Centenary Paver/s.
- Saturday 6 October, 2007 (long weekend) – Centenary Dinner being held at the Campbelltown RSL Club. Further details to follow later. Start thinking about making up tables with your year group/friends and being a part of the celebrations.
The school is offering accommodation in the boarding house with breakfast on the Sunday morning for those ex students (male and female) wishing to attend the Centenary Dinner on the Saturday night. The contact person for this offer is Mr Mark Sargeant, Deputy Principal, and he can be contacted on (02) 9829 9232 for further information. As yet, costs have not been determined so please WATCH THIS SPACE!
Other significant events planned are:

- Debutante Ball (June)
- School Musical
- Country Fair (25/8/07)
- Annual Rugby Dinner (night of 25/8/07 following Country Fair)
