Hurlstone Centenary News

Centenary Logo 2007 was Hurlstone's Centenary year. Various events were conducted to celebrate this milestone.

Thanksgiving Service

The Thanksgiving Service was held on Sunday April 1, 2007. It was a wonderful day with over 1500 people in attendance. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves and the centenary committee were very pleased with the final result.
A big thankyou to all those who assisted on the day, especially the current students who assisted as performers, ushers, tour guides, parking attendants and caterers.

Centennial History Book

The Centennial History Book, ("Bedbugs, daygos and slabs") written by Mr Alan Pollock of the History Faculty was officially launched at the Thanksgiving Service in April 2007. Some copies of this book are still available for sale via the school office for $10.00 plus $5.00 postage.

Alumni Walkway

The Alumni Walkway runs parallel to Roy Watts Rd, and connects Clarke House to the main Admin building. It consists of pavers inscribed with the names of former students and staff of the school and was offically opened by Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, Governor of New South Wales on April 1, 2007. (Click here for the transcipt of the Governor's speech - MSWord 29KB)

Next time you are at the school make a point of having a look at the walkway.

Centenary Dinner

The Centenary Dinner was held on October 6, 2007 at Campbelltown RSL Club.
600 former staff and students were in attendance, taking the opportunity to catch up with past acquaintances and reminise about the days of the old schoolyard.
Photos of the evening will soon be available in the gallery section, and will also be available for purchase from the school for a nominal fee.
